About Fortara
Fortara is a parent organisation for a small number of initiatives in public education and advocacy. Its job is to give that work a stable frame: clear boundaries, plain language, and no incentive to exaggerate.
Why it exists
A great deal of what is published about stress sits at one of two extremes. Either it is clinical writing that assumes you already have a diagnosis and a care provider, or it is wellness content that promises regulation in five minutes and sells something at the end.
Between those two there is very little: honest, readable material for someone who is functioning, competent, apparently fine, and quietly running on empty. Fortara exists to make that middle ground properly, and to keep it free.
What we do
- Publish public education. Short, plain-language material on stress and nervous system regulation, written to be understood on a bad day.
- Advocate. Argue for stress literacy being treated as ordinary knowledge — in workplaces, in schools, in how organisations design work.
- Hold standards. Every initiative under Fortara states its scope, its limits, and where to go for the things it does not do.
What we do not do
Being explicit about this is part of the work, not a disclaimer bolted on at the end. Fortara and its initiatives do not provide therapy, medical or psychological treatment, assessment or diagnosis, safeguarding, or crisis support. We do not give personal advice about an individual's health, and we do not accept clinical referrals.
We also do not sell programmes, certifications or supplements, and we do not run advertising or affiliate links. If that changes, it will be stated plainly here before anything else changes.
Initiatives
The Anchor
Fortara's advocacy arm, at anchor.fortara.org. The Anchor covers stress awareness, nervous system regulation, and what responsible somatic education looks like. It publishes articles and material for organisations; it is not a service and takes no clients.
The Regulation Project
In preparation. It will be described here when there is something real to describe.
How we work
Small, slowly, and in Swedish and English at the same time. We prefer being late and accurate to early and vague. Where evidence is genuinely unsettled we say so rather than picking whichever reading is more persuasive.
This website carries no analytics, no cookies, no tracking pixels and no third-party requests — not as a feature, but because we have no legitimate reason to collect anything about a person reading about their own stress. See our privacy notice.
